Schools Judo
Hampshire Judo Academy aims to deliver Judo into Schools in Hampshire, ensuring the highest standards of coaching to ensure that those exposed to Judo in a school environment feel positively about sport and Judo.
By delivering Judo in schools, we develop participation generally, providing a taste of Judo which leads young people to participate in Judo community sports clubs.
Unlike other school programmes, the Hampshire Judo Association programme is a team effort designed to encourage students into a healthy sporting lifestyle, wether in Judo or in another sport. Schools Judo is an excellent multi-skills opportunity and brings with it positive benefits of participation in sport and the self-discipline and self-confidence developed through participation in martial arts.
Judo is taught in schools in England (and around the world) both as after school clubs and also as part of lesson time.
We are currently looking to introduce Judo into more schools in Hampshire and also support those hard working coaches teaching independently in Schools promoting Judo.
If you would like to discuss including Judo in your school please contact as on 02380 696 306 (or 077875 65233) or email Schools@hampshirejudoacademy.com
Below is a terrific video by our friend Mike Darter from the OKCDT Judo club in the USA, which explains what Judo is and the benefits it offers children:
